The Perks of Being a First Mover
The Founding 50 is the first group of U.S. cafés and roasters to put Excelsa on a menu or a shelf. We are helping them bring Excelsa to the U.S. market.
- 01Preferred pricing where applicable.
- 02Roasting or brewing guidance, and staff education.
- 03Marketing support — origin information for roasters, customer-facing materials for cafés.
- 04Early access to new-harvest lots, and other seasonal perks.
- 05Founding window decal and a directory listing on the Excelsa website as one of the first U.S. accounts.
Fifty founding accounts. Spots are held for accounts that have completed a sample evaluation.

"Will people actually order it?"
They order it because it's new to them: tropical fruit, dark cherry, tamarind, spice, a wine-like depth. It sits alongside what you already pour rather than replacing it — and with roughly 30% less caffeine, it gives an afternoon cup.

"Is it hard to roast?"
It's different, not difficult. Excelsa is a third species — not a new origin of something you already roast. The bean behaves differently in the drum, so we send the guide and cup it with you. You shouldn't have to figure it out from scratch.
Get Green Samples →A new species has its own roast specs. We help you learn them.
Excelsa behaves differently in the drum, so your existing profile is a starting point, not an answer. Every green sample ships with our roasting guide, and we'll get on a call or a cupping table with your roaster to work through what you're seeing — you shouldn't have to repeat years of learning from scratch.
Download the roasting guide →
- 01How the green behaves going in — bean size, density, and what that changes.
- 02General charge, ramp, and drop guidance to get your first batch in the right range.
- 03Where first roasts usually go wrong, and how to read the cup when they do.
- 04A cupping session with our team once you've roasted the sample.
Cafés get the brewing equivalent — dial-in guidance and staff education instead of a roast curve.

Tell us about your café or roastery and what you'd like to try — takes about a minute.
Request samples →Can we count on the same lot next season?
Yes! We have strong, long-term relationships with our farmers and plan to continue sourcing from the same lots whenever possible. If availability changes or we anticipate running low on inventory, we'll give you plenty of advance notice.
What are the minimums and lead times?
Available in 5 lb, 30 lb, and 60 kg formats. Lead times are 48 business hours. Larger LTL orders typically require 3–5 business days for processing and pickup. We'll provide your estimated delivery timeline once your order is confirmed.
Is it hard to roast?
It's different, not difficult. Different species, different specs — and we send the guide and cup it with you.
